What happened?

Miles went missing and then you was found here is what he found: (only relevant information)

After a few weeks of trying to find my treasure, I was about to give up. The ground was just way too hard to do any type of digging. Even after drenching it with the little water I had left, only the top inch would get soft enough for a few minutes to get a little digging done.

It was during these final moments of contemplation that I decided to have my final dinner here and call my quest for wealth a failure. As darkness fell over the sandy landscape, I unwrapped my sandwich and chomped away, while dreaming of what could have been my future if I did find the great bounty. Slightly disappointed my appetite vanished. I tossed the rest of my sandwich on the ground.

While I was packing up my gear, I noticed something.... tiny ants were crawling up through the rock hard soil, in search of the food I had tossed aside. Seconds later, the sandwich was crawling with ants. Even better, the soil under it was now completely broken up. I grabbed my shovel out of my backpack and dug down. To my surprise, it had become incredibly easy to remove inches of dirt at once.


As the final sunlight started to disappear, I noticed something. I grabbed my little brush out of my backpack and brushed away a small layer of dirt in the hole I just dug. There it was, a bone. At first it didn't appear special, but as I continued to brush away sand, I noticed the size of the bone. Very thin and very long. I tried to think of what animal it could belong to, but came up empty. It was too skinny to belong to an elephant, and too long and straight to have come from any other common animal that may roam these deserts.


I stared at my treasure. This must be it. An actual dinosaur bone. My map had led me to one of the greatest discoveries in the history of the Cities of Powerpets. For this day would forever mark the day I became famous.
